FAQs
We are often asked the following questions.
If you have a question about translation or the way we work, you may find the answer below.
What does a translation cost?
Translation costs vary depending on the type of text and the number of words to be translated. as well as the language combination involved. Please contact us to find out what your translation will cost. We will send you a quote within 24 hours.
How long does it take to translate a text?
To calculate how long your translation will take, bear in mind that translators average around 2,000 words a day and revisers around 8,000. We can often deliver shorter texts under 1,000 words the next day. For larger projects, we deploy several translators who work together with one reviser for each language.
My translation is urgent, what can you do for me?
We can often deliver urgent translations under 1,000 words the same day if required. Translations greater than 2,000 words are delivered the next day. We also work in the evenings and at weekends for special rates. Give us a call on +31 (0)24 3605 442 to find out what your options are.
How does HHCE apply the terminology appropriate to my field?
Using the correct terminology is of vital importance. This is why HHCE compiles individual, electronic glossaries for all customers in a special terminology database. This terminology is highlighted on screen during translation thus minimising the risk of errors.
Does HHCE use native speakers?
All of HHCE’s translators work into their native language, with no exceptions. So the answer is yes. However, only professionals are capable of producing high-quality translations, since linguistic knowledge is not enough in itself. This is why all of our translators are not only native speakers, but also have appropriate translation qualifications at higher vocational or university level.
What qualifications do HHCE’s translators have?
All translators who work for HHCE have completed a relevant translation qualification at higher vocational or university level. We also expect our translators to have good general knowledge, as well as one or two specialisms, so that they are familiar with the jargon used in the field. They are also capable of using the style or tone most appropriate to the target audience throughout the translation.
How does HHCE check the quality of its own translations?
First and foremost, HHCE is very selective about the translators it works with. We then deploy a translator and reviser for every single project to ensure the highest quality, all in accordance with the EN 15038 standard. We also have a quality control system, which systematically checks the terminology, consistency, style and spelling used in our translations.
Which languages does HHCE translate from and into?
In principle, HHCE translates all modern business languages. This means that HHCE can provide you with translations from and into all modern European languages, all major Asian and American languages and Arabic.
